If his accomplishments at Ashbrook High School are any indication, Sam Boyles is sure to excel as a leader in college and beyond.
Not only does Boyles serve at the Lowell Fire Department as a volunteer, he also founded the City of Lowell’s youth council. Boyles also was able to manage his time to study for Advanced Placement classes and lead a corps of cadets for Ashbrook’s JROTC program where he holds the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel.
Boyles was the recipient of the JROTC Daedalian Achievement Medal and is a member of the Kitty Hawk Air Honor Society. Boyles spent his summers as a participant at the Air Force JROTC Leadership School at Converse College and attended the Mock Congress at the National Young Leaders’ Conference in Washington, D.C.
Boyles received scholarships from the Army ROTC and North Carolina Department of Veteran Affairs that together will fully fund his college education. He plans to attend Appalachian State University and major in computer science.
