Principal

 Dr. Susan Hutton

Dr. Hutton has been with Gaston County Schools

for five years and this is her third year as the principal

at Carr Elementary.  She came to Gaston County from

Virginia with administrative and teaching experience. 

Dr. Hutton received her Ph.D. from the College of

William and Mary in Education. She is also a National

Board Certified Teacher, as an Early Childhood Generalist.   

Assistant Principal

Mr. Logan McGuire

Mr. Logan McGuire was born in Atlanta, Georgia, grew up in Sylva, North Carolina,

and graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Music degree

in 2000.  He lived in Colorado for four years, where he taught elementary and

middle school music,  before returning to North Carolina where he spent three years

teaching elementary music in Lincoln County.  Mr. McGuire earned his Master of

School Administration degree from  Appalachian State University in 2007,

and was an assistant principal at Cramerton Middle School in Gaston County

for three years.  This is his second year as an assistant principal at Carr.  Mr. McGuire

and his wife, son, and two daughters, live in Denver.  He enjoys spending time with his

family, reading, hiking, swimming, playing and listening to music, visiting the mountains

and watching Atlanta Braves baseball.
