What's the Good News at Robinson?

Thanks to Ms. Beth Germain and Springfield for letting our First Grade teachers visit to learn more about the Common Core.  Earlier Ms. White and Ms. Anthony had visited.  Thanks to Springfield for showing us some important insights to help us plan for next year.
Thanks for the EOG pep rally.  Great idea and great support for our students.  What a touching send off!
Robinson Art on display in Central Office on Osceola through June 1!
Thanks so much to all our volunteers and staff who helped with testing this week.
Thanks to Ms. Isenhour for running such an organized testing program.
With Ms. Murphy’s timely help and Ms. Henry’s leadership, we applied for a Dollar General Grant for more books in our classroom libraries so we can better teach the Common Core standards.  We’ll find out in August if we win the grant.

iPad pilot program: we are now accepting donations to this fund so we can purchase iPads.  The plan is to raise $10,000 and purchase 10 iPads to use in Ms. Fasano's and Ms. Holland's Second Grade classes next year.  The students in these classes will be selected randomly.  After analyzing the results of the pilot, we seek to expand Robinson's capacity to touch all grades.  We will take what we learn next year, compare results with the other 2nd grade classes and then have a better plan for our school of how to implement iPads in the classroom.  As you may have seen in the news, Charlotte Mecklenburg is now restructuring their plan to a pilot as well.  The sooner we embark on this pilot test program, the sooner we can obtain this opportunity for all of our students.  Please consider donating to this exciting learning program.  Interested families can donate to Robinson and designate gifts for the iPad fund.  We are also starting a Donors Choose grant online.
